The notes kept in these pages are the record of my laboratory activities, since my arrival in Cliffheart in january of 1220.
I hope, through these studies, to increase my skillness, the might of the Order of Hermes and the prestige of the noble House Tytalus.

january - december 1220 • I invented the spell The Dripping blood, PeCo 15

Pe Co 15 - The Dripping Blood
Focus: fresh human blood (+1)
R: Near, D: Spec., Req: Creo

The victim sweats blood abundantly for one minute or ten rounds. Each round he has to roll a stress die on Cos: with a botch he loses a body level, with 3 or less he loses a fatigue level, con 10 or more the effect is interrupted.

Notes: it is not a powerful spell, but it's quite terrifing. It can hardly kill the target, who, anyway, will probably fall unconscious seeing himself dripping blood.

october - december 1222 • I transcribed three spells for the Covenant, in the book De procellis et obscuritate.

The book contains the following spells:

Clouds of rain and thunder, Cr Au 25
Well without light, Pe Ig 25
Unseen arm, Re Te 5

Notes: During the six months of exile in 1222 I decided that, when I was back, I would write this book for the Covenant; I hope this work might redeem me, at least partially, from my faults.
In 1224 Laetus Viator of Mercere copied this book for my private library, and I have lent this copy to Stormheart of Flambeau in 1225, who has lent me one of his.

january - march 1223 • I studied the spell Pilum of fire, Cr Ig 20 in the Aswick's of Tytalus version. The spell was found in the Covenant library.

Notes: My access to the library was granted by the delivery of my book in the december of 1222.

july 1224 - march 1225 • I created an enchantament for Laetus Viator of Mercere.
Laetus Viator of Mercere, who at the beginning of 1224 made for me a copy of my book De procellis et obscuritate, desires an enchanted object which containing Wings of the soared wind, Re Au 25, useful for his usual travels. Sfortunately, he confessed me, due to his character and his great curiosity for anything around him, he's unable to stay concentrate for a long time, and since the duration of the spell, which lasts until concentration is held, he prefers not to risk and so he asked me to add this modify to the object. Moreover, he'd like that the effect is activated by a particular phrase.

A proper object to use for controlling the movement is a pair of boots (bonus +5), and a I used one of high quality.
The boots needed six pawns of vis Vim to be opened to the enchantment, and I spent a whole season in this operation.
The value of the enchantment is:

25
 Rego Auram
 +
5
 keeping concentration
 +
3
the object can be activated only by me and Laetus Viator
 +
2
the object can be used only three times a day
 =
35

To speed up the work I used three pawns on vis Auram too.
Moreover, to achieve astonishing results from this activity, I made arcane experimentation with an exceptional risk of +2 which produced no results at all.
In this way my laboratory total is :

3
 Int
 +
6
 Magic Theory
 +
3
 Rego
 +
14
 Auram
 +
3
 Aura of the Covenant
 +
5
 bonus from the boots
 +
15
 bonus vis Auram
 +
5
 bonus arcane experimentation
 +
2
 bonus exceptional risk
 =
56

I was able to fill up 56-35=21 points per season, and 2 seasons are enough (21x2>35) to enchant the boots.
At the end three pawns of vis Rego are needed to close the enchantment.
At this point, (3p Au + 3p Re = 6p Vis) the object can't receive further magic effects.

On the boots the symbols "MCCXXV YTF" (1225 Yolhe Tytali fecit) are marked with fire.

Notes: the enchantment globally required 3 seasons, that's why I'll ask Laetus Viator, in the future, for an adeguate recompense.
The boots and the 12 pawns of vis were given me by Laetus Viator.

june 1225 • I own three new spell

During the legation at Ashenrise for the Covenant, I met Stormheart of Flambeau who lent me one of his books in exchange for my book De Procellis et Obscuritate.
This book contains three spells:

Creeping oil, Cr Aq Ig 10
Light shaft of the night, Re Ig 10
Breath of Vulcan, Cr Ig Au Te 30

Notes: before giving it back, the book has been copied by Laetus Viator of Mercere.
In 1229, Silvanus of Ex-Miscellanea copied the book for the Covenant library.

genuary - march 1226 • I studied the spell Breath of Vulcan, Cr IgAuTe 30, in the Stormheart's of Flambeau version.

Notes: The spell was in my personal library since July 1226.

april 1228 • - I have been appointed Primus of Cliffheart - Mutation spell
On April 5th, our Excellentissimus Primus, Aswick of Tytalus, died, and, in the notes he left, he appointed me as new Primus of the Covenant.

Moreover, in the notes he left for me, I found the spell he promised me months ago. In July 1227, in a faerie region, in fact, I have been subjected to a curse that turns me into a fox.
This spell gives me back, up to next year, my human form.

Mu Co 25 - The genuine human form
R: Per, D: Moon, Req: Animal

april - june 1228 • - I investigated the powers of The diligent pick of Agartha

Since Primus, I examined Aswick's sanctum and I found the pick used in digging Cliffheart heart.

The laboratory total for the investigation was:

2
 Intellego
 +
4
 Vim
 +
3
 Int
 +
7
 Magica Theory
 +
3
 Aura of the Covenant
 +
4
 bonus arcane experimentation
 +
3
 bonus exceptional risk
 +
5
 Stress dice
 =
31

The power within the object was the spell:

Re Te 20 - The diligent pick of Agartha
R: Touch, D: Mom

Notes: The arcane experimentation, unlikely, produced a little damage in my laboratory.

july - december 1228 • I moved to Aswick's sanctum

I moved to this laboratory because the access to Cliffheart Heart is in Aswick's sanctum and because, since Al'gor, this is the Primus' sanctum, even if I'll need six months to set it up this new room.

genuary - december 1229 • I studied several books, both mundane and arcane

Genuary - March :I studied the Peripheral Code, compiled in 1185 by Tanicus of Quaesitor.
As Primus I must know, at least, a part of this Code and this summary helped me a lot.
April - June :I read Mores et traditiones meridiei Hiberniae, written for our Covenant by Mavors of Tremere in 1227. It's a good text to know Cliffheart neighbourhood.
July - September :I studied the Pulse of Magic, extraordinary summa on Vim compiled by the missed Aswick of Tytalus.
To reach the highest levels in this matter, I should study for long time; but these three months are enough to increase my knowledge.
October - December :I studied the book Genesis of Maximilianus of Bonisagus, summa on Creo. In my opinion, this is a good book but not in-dept enough; but even the littlest improvement in our knowledge is our first aim.

january - march 1230 • I went to Fudarus - new spell books

I left on Genuary 1230 with Brion of Tytalus for the traditional gathering of my House, held in Fudarus.

At Fudarus I exchanged two books - De procellis et obscuritate and Stormheart's one- with those of Phoebius of Tytalus, who gave me his remarcable work Collectio Mediana, in two volumes.
The spells cantained are:

Tomo I - Ut temere non possat:
Touch of Icy Death, Pe Ig Co 25
Cooking the Cuticles, Pe Co Ig 15
Duel of Mind, Re Me 20

Tomo II - Tria Munera:
Thicker then Water, Cr Me 15
The Phantom Gift, Cr Vi 15
Seeing the boundary level, In Vi 15

Notes: When I was back, Hics of Verditius copied for me the works I exchanged at Fudarus from the originals held in my Covenant.
At the end of 1231 I delivered Collectio Mediana to Hics of Verditius, due to have a copy of these books for the Cliffheart library. However I didn't want he to copy the Duel of Mind and The Phantom Gift.

april 1230 - june 1231 • I studied several books, both mundane and arcane

april - june :I read De Sinus Bantris hystoria, casibus locisque a Barbarbore Luci narratis, the book Eileen of Merinita wrote eight years ago. This interesting volume collects legends, traditions, stories and miths from the Beanntraí Bay (Bantry) as Barbalbero told her.
july - december :I studied Naturalia, of Colomba Bianca of Bjornaer, summa on Herbam. I studied it for six months, but now I have got enough knowledges also in this Form, which, in the past, I have negelcted.
genuary - march :I studied Animalia, summa on Animal compiled by Silvanus of Ex-Miscellanea. This work, written for Cliffheart two years ago, collects interesting theories and examples about the Form loved by Silvanus. I am really amused by the books my Sodales have written.
april - june :I studied Mastery and Expertness, the magnificent will left by our old Primus Al'gor of Verditius. This nice and precious work on Rego pushed me, once again, to look for the Great Knowledge, so I could, one day, write a work like this.

july 1231 - march 1232 • I invented a spell for the Covenant.

After our meeting in Greyforest, where we committed ourselves to help each other, I took with this Covenant a little and personal agreement for the exploitation of a magic site.
In exchange for money (taken from my own treasure and not from Cliffheart) Greyforest Magi revealed us a place where stands a regio containing a vis source.
The pact provide that the source will be used by Cliffheart for three years and then it will be used by both the Covenants; we determined that source produces five pawns of Vis vim per year.
I, immediately, used part of this vis to create a magic item we can use or sell. It's a fishing net which attracts fishes magically.

A cloth sack is the object which suits perfectly my project.
Cloth sack: 1 (fabric) x 4 (large dimensions); bonus +5 (to catch things)

The object required four panws of vis Vim to be opened to the enchantment, and I spent a Season in this operation.

The enchantment value is:

25
 Rego Animal req. Aquam
 +
3
the object can be used six times a day
 =
28

To speed the enchantment up I used three pawns of vis Aquam.
More, to achieve exceptional results from this activity, I made arcane experimentations with a further risk of +3, which gave me a deeper insight in Rego (+1).
My laboratory total was:

3
 Int
 +
7
 Rego
 +
5
 Animal - Aquam
 +
8
 Teoria magica
 +
3
 Aura dell'Alleanza
 +
5
 bonus sacco
 +
5
 bonus vis Aquam
 +
3
 bonus sperimentazione arcana
 +
3
 bonus rischio eccezionale
 =
42

I was able to put 42-28=14 points a Season, and 2 seasons were enough (14x2=28) to invest the spell into the sack. Moreover, I needed three panws of vis Aquam to close the enchantment.
At the end (1u Aq + 3u Aq = 4u Vi) the object can't receive further magic effects.
I attached a leather lace to the sack with the symbols "MCCXXXII YTF" (1232 Yolhe Tytali fecit).

Notes: The four pawns of vis Vim were taken from the Covenant resources, and came from the Regio where lives the Manticora; the four pawns of vis Aquam came were from my personal treasure from the division of December 1229.
After speaking with my Sodales ho deciso di utilizzare questo oggetto per il sostentamento della nostra Alleanza, in modo da poter diminuire la somma di denaro dovuta annuamente ai contadini di Shull.

april - december 1232 • I studied The hint of the Silent Watcher, by Avitius of Verditius

Notes: In seguito allo studio di questo libro possiedo ora conoscenze sufficienti anche nell'Arte Intellego.
